BriSCA F2 driver profiles who are racing in the Live Action Arena.
Words by Steve Linfield and photos by Colin Casserley

1 George MacMillan Jnr

In 2013 George suffered the heart break of losing the World Championship just a lap from home. How could he bounce back from that? Win it in 2014 of course! And to make it even sweeter it was on his home track of Cowdenbeath in front of a partisan largely Scottish crowd. For so long simply under rated, his car now carries the gold roof and #1 and thoroughly deserved it is too.

3 Liam Rennie

The Scottish 18 year old burst on to the scene in 2013 and jumped from white top to superstar and with it swept to the Novice of the Year title. 2014 was a year of consolidation, but he remains one of the sport’s brightest prospects and to show the high regard in which he is held, he was chosen as a test driver for the Ford 2 litre Zetec engine which is set to be introduced for the 2015 season.

7 Gordon Moodie

Gordon is a BriSCA F2 icon, having won everything there is to win at least once and is now synonymous with the National Points Championship silver roof, which he won for the tenth time in 2014, and he raised even his lofty standards by annexing the British, European, Scottish, World Cup and Shoot Out titles. Maybe loved and loathed in equal measures but universally respected.
38 Dave Polley

Dave is one of BriSCA F2 Stock Car racing’s more controversial characters at times, and has even been likened to a pantomime villain. But the fact that he is a former National Points, English Open Champion and a former British and European Champion suggests he knows how to race, and win big. His 2014 season was truncated by a hand injury
  488 Liam Bentham

Like many before and after him he is from a Stock Car racing family, Liam is an up and coming all round star and is competetent and at home on both the tarmac and shale tracks and not afraid to put in the miles to race from his Lancashire base, as proved by his 100% attendance at the F2 meetings at Skegness Stadium in 2014
641 Dennis Middler

Proud Scotsman Dennis is one of the real characters of BriSCA F2 and one of the leading names too, particularly at his home track of the Cowdenbeath Racewall where he has a legion of fans. Has starred in the Live Action Arena previously and will do so again this time around.
676 Neil Hooper

Neil is now a very seasoned campaigner in BriSCA F2, following on from his father Garry who was World Champion in 1986. Neil himself is a former European and English Open Champion, Neil remains one of the top stars in the country and particularly in the southwest, and never to be discounted.
798 Mark Sargent

Mark has now been racing long enough (easily!) to be classed as a veteran, some call him “Heritage” but he prefers the term “legend”. His own racing takes a bit of a back seat now owing his son Finn’s Ministox career, but that said ‘Sarg’ combines both F1 and F2, and loves being part of the ASI Live Arena action.
823 Sam Wagner

Sam is one of the leading all-rounders in BriSCA F2, winning on both the tarmac and the shale and is one who can rise to the occasion of a big race or title, where he is often at the forefront. A leading driver from the northeast of England, another region steeped in Stock Car history. Sheffield Track Champion, which is renowned as one of the toughest tracks of them all, so far from afraid of anything, or anyone.
886 Chris Bradbury

Chris has been one of the leading names in BriSCA F2 Stock Car racing for a ten year stretch, in which he has been runner up to Gordon Moodie in the National Points on numerous occasions, and won it in 2008. He has also been British Champion and multiple track champions as well as other titles. He shocked his fans by announcing a least a two year sabbatical from the sport at the end of the 2014 season, thus this could be the last chance to see him behind the wheel for a while….
968 Micky Brennan

‘Tricky Micky’ is one of the smallest Stock Car drivers of them all, but a big star and a hard and fast driver, plus a former double World Champion having won the title in 2009 and 2012 . He still has plenty of years and thus further success left in him, and further stints at gold are far from out of the question.
979 Paul Moss

Paul, who lives in Cornwall, pulled off the amazing achievement of racing at each of BriSCA F2’s 19 mainland tracks during the 2014 season, and with it each of the World Championship qualifying rounds too where he was rewarded with a front row start in a World Championship Semi Final. All of this despite only being in his second season in the class.
