The Oval Racing Experience in Hall 11, as an integral part of Autosport International, the largest Motorsport show of its kind in the world, helped attract over 89,000 visitors to the NEC Birmingham over the weekend OF 10th and 11th January 2004..

Hall 11 was packed with exhibitors and car exhibits, both from the present and past, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Stock Car racing in Britain plus new cars destined for 2004 track success.

In 1954 at New Cross stock car racing was launched in the UK and over the years has evolved into modern day oval racing as we know it.

To help us pay tribute to this anniversary, the very first English stock car winner Fred Parsons came along to the show told us some great stories of his days in racing as ‘The Mad Parson’

THORA – The Historic Oval Racing Association – bought along to the show pioneer stock cars that were then still built from production coupes and salons for a static display in Hall 11 and then we saw them in action on Saturday night.

BRISCA F1 Heritage had a great variety of cars on display ranging from 1962  to the present day.
