NEC Birmingham

Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th January 2008

The Oval Racing Experience in Hall 18 was packed with cars, exhibitors large and small covering everything from race promoters to model race cars, from associations and clubs to clothing, from constructors selling complete cars to stands selling videos, clothing and tools.

The huge range of immaculate Autograss, Oval and Rallycross cars, many brand new and prepared for the 2008 season were not the only cars creating a great deal of interest in the Hall.

Six BriSCA Heritage F1 and F2s were on display -the oldest we are told was Nigel Finniganís BriSCA F2 Ford Y - the original car having been built in 1935.  Another ďvintageĒ car was Dean Valeís road legal replica of his Dadís 1970s Status Quo sponsored Spedeworth Hot Rod.

The Spedeworth, Santa Pod and NASA stands were proving as popular as ever together with representatives from many formulas and racing suppliers.

The British Radio Car Associationís full size circuit allowed the cars space to operate and attracted crowds of spectators over the two days.

There was plenty of action on the Oval Racing stage with interviews from major exhibitors, celebrities plus awards, together with Renegade dancers Julie, Becky and Natasha performing on the stage four times each day.  Our stage comperes were Dave Richardson and Graham Woodward.
